Gene Thomas | Chief Executive Officer
Gene Thomas founded SAM Systems in 2003 and brings over 20 years of business experience to his role as CEO of the Company. In 1990 he co-founded Computer Builders Warehouse, a nationwide computer retailer that was acquired in 2006. His career has included senior positions with Computer Products Inc in northern California and with Shearson Lehman and Hunton in Detroit. Mr. Thomas is active in community affairs, and is a Board Member of several charitable and non-profit organizations.
Nicholas Brookins | Chief Technology Officer
Nick Brookins, co-founder and CTO of SAM Systems, is responsible for setting overall product strategy and overseeing product design and development. He also serves as the company's Chief Software Architect, and has played a key role in the conception of SAM Systems' products and patent-pending features. Nick maintains a blog about software development and business at www.codetoast.com.
Nick began his love of software development writing his first applications in 1987, not long after the release of the Intel 386 processor. He has been active in software development and design since then, participating as an active member of both the software development and physical security communities, and receiving recognition from institutions including the University of Michigan and Microsoft.
Nick also has experience in network design and security, physical security and surveillance, web technology, and electronic engineering at companies including Electronic Data Systems, Circuit City Stores, Inc., and Inca Computer Company. Prior to his current position at SAM Systems, Nick served as CIO of Computer Builders Warehouse where he managed Information Systems for the company's nationwide locations and diverse customer base.
